“A Plated Journey” is a photo and video project that explores the interaction between social norms and eating habits in public spaces by showcasing individuals dining in unconventional locations. The project invites viewers to reflect on the impact of societal conformity on personal freedom of expression and to recognize the potential for self-empowerment through self-presentation. It highlights how a simple change of setting can influence perceptions of social acceptance and personal discomfort.

“A vegan schnitzel reimagined holistically and sustainably. A ceramic plate was designed to give the schnitzel its characteristic shape and texture. Instead of traditional cranberry sauce and lemon wedges, a freeze dried cranberry pepper and fermented salted lemon jam are served in a custom-made condiment set. The project reflects interdisciplinary skills, as it was realized by the designer from the conceptual idea through to graphic design, food photography, and object design. It was part of an exhibition at the Vienna Design Week 2023 and was brought to life during a pop-up dinner event.

Whether it’s a warm bowl of Gröstl, a golden slice of Apfelstrudel, or freshly crafted mountain cheeses, each plate is a visual and sensory ode to the region’s charm.
